Sports and recreation
In this place, being active is a way of life. Getting out and about is important to everyone’s overall wellness – and it is a great way to enjoy the beauty of our province.
No matter the season, there are many exciting sports and activities to enjoy, youth and adults alike. From hockey to hiking, fishing to skiing, New Brunswick has a long history of sports appreciation and participation.
To learn about wellness, active living, and sports and recreation in New Brunswick, visit the Department of Wellness, Culture and Sport website.
Information on sports and recreational activities can also be found on the Tourism New Brunswick website and Sport NB.
For youth, there are number of online health and wellness resources such as Good News for a Change and Ado-Parlons Santé (French website only).
If you are a sports spectator, you can kick back and watch local teams and athletes take part in exciting sporting events, such as baseball, curling or golf. You can also enjoy a game and cheer on one of our province’s three Quebec Major Junior League hockey teams.
Our parks offer great opportunities for outdoor recreation. With many green spaces, beaches and trails, we have the perfect sites for explorers of all ages. For example, visit Kouchibouguac National Park where you can see bogs, salt marshes, tidal rivers, sheltered lagoons, and tall forests – all in an afternoon stroll. Or check out Fundy National Park where the rocky, tree-covered Caledonia Highlands meet the fog rolling in from the Bay of Fundy.
